An initial site visit at the property to understand the property’s features, benefits, and challenges and importantly to understand the clients plans and ideas. D+D then make an initial assessment of what can and can’t be done within reason and against any expected budget. Following this meeting D+D will supply a “working with D+D document” and a style-guide for the client to review, fill out and send back to D+D.

Follow up meeting to undertake a site analysis – includes laser measure of the space, initial visual inspection of services, structures and access and first discussions about potential layouts. “Drafting standard” floor-plan drawings supplied to client.

We develop a cohesive design direction by first crafting a Concept Board that explores styles, materials, colour palettes and layout ideas based on your brief. This foundation then evolves into a detailed Design Board, where the proposed floor plan, spatial use and specific fixtures, finishes and fittings (FF&E) are refined through collaborative meetings, site visits and supplier consultations —resulting in a clear, aligned vision for your project.

We prepare a complimentary Scope of Works outlining the required build elements, FF&E, estimated costs and our Project Design Coordination fee. If the client chooses to proceed, we arrange site visits with trusted builders and trades, refine the SOW with their input, and provide a final quotation and works schedule to bring the design to life.

Our Project Design Coordination fee (20–25% of the overall build cost, or a minimum of $1,500 + GST) covers ongoing site visits and collaboration with your chosen builder or trades to ensure the design is executed as intended. We recommend trusted, vetted professionals based on past performance, but you’re free to select any contractor you prefer — and we’ll work seamlessly with them to keep the project aligned, resolved and on track.
